Monroe Biomedical Research is an FDA sanctioned clinical trial facility running multiple Asthma treatment studies examining different ways to treat Asthma.

ASTHMA TREATMENT STUDY
(LOGOS)

Age 12 to 80 years old
for patients who Have been diagnosed with Asthma for at least 12 months
therapy Budesonide, glycopyrronium, and formoterol fumarate compared to Symbicort
COMPENSATION Patients that qualify and choose to participate receive up to $1,125
Investigational Treatment

This study is examining whether an investigational medication called BGF MDI (a metered dose inhaler containing budesonide, glycopyrronium and formoterol fumarate) can improve asthma symptoms.

BGF MDI is an investigational orally inhaled combination of budesonide, glycopyrronium and formoterol fumarate, which is being compared to the Budesonide and Formoterol Fumarate Metered Dose Inhaler (BFF MDI) and Symbicort® pressurized Metered Dose Inhaler (Symbicort® pMDI).

Symbicort is a combination of budesonide and formoterol fumarate dihydrate and has already been approved for treatment of asthma in patients 6 years of age and older in the U.S.

ASTHMA TREATMENT STUDY
(VATHOS)

Age 12 to 80 years old
for patients who Have been diagnosed with Asthma for at least 6 months
therapy Budesonide and Formoterol Fumarate compared to Symbicort
COMPENSATION Patients that qualify and choose to participate receive up to $750
Investigational Treatment
(or Placebo)

The goal of this study is to have good control of asthma symptoms and minimize exacerbations. The study is examining the effectiveness of Budesonide and Formoterol Fumarate compared to Symbicort (which is an FDA approved product).

While Budesonide and Formoterol Fumarate are FDA approved active ingredients, the combination MDI investigational product is not yet FDA approved.

EOSINOPHILIC ASTHMA TREATMENT STUDY
(20033)

Age 18 years or older
for patients who Have been diagnosed with Asthma for at least 6 months
therapy Investigational Medication
COMPENSATION Patients that qualify and choose to participate receive compensation for their time and travel
Investigational Medication
(or Placebo)

This study is examining an investigational medication for treating eosinophilic asthma. This type of Asthma is persistent, can be moderate to severe, and is marked by high levels of white blood cells.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate an investigational medication in asthma patients compated to placebo while continuing with other asthma medications.

What is Asthma?
  • Asthma is a condition where the airways swell and narrow causing shortnes of breath and oftentimes excessive mucus.
How do I know if I have Asthma?
  • If you are suffering from Asthma, you may experience shortness of breath, wheezing, excessive mucus, chest tightness, or a lack of energy.
How much will the study cost?
  • There will be zero costs for the study participant to take part in the Asthma study.
What if I am uninsured?
  • Proof of insurance is NOT required to participate in this study. All medical oversight over the course of your study participation is included.
What does investigational medication mean?
  • An Investigational medication (also known as investigational new drug) has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for testing in people in a clinical study, but has not been approved for general use, distribution or sale. It is through clinical research that these medications receive full approval by the FDA.
How will I be compensated for participating?
  • Participants receive a check following each study visit. For this study, those that qualify and choose to participate could receive a total payment of up to $1,125.
